I was feeling somewhat empty, so put these up to cheer me up.

These two gents were displaying their version of the longbowmen of olde England.
They were really into it.

It seemed, given the right circumstances, that they might well fill the sky with arrows and halt the tired French cavalry.

This may well have nothing to do with anything. Or everything to do with something.
I quite liked the amount of effort, knowledge and skill that had gone into such a pointless activity. Of course, if the Peak Oil chaps are correct, we may need this knowledge and skill again.

I'm really not sure how to react to such riches.

Thoroughly enjoying re-reading Jim Thompson currently. No one is innocent, everyone is implicated. Some people are stronger and they maintain their position by oppressing, controlling and duping the weak. However everyone's luck runs out eventually as they lose their touch, looks, grip. Everyone dies. Somehow this is very enjoyable.

Outta my mind on a Saturday night
1970 rollin' in sight
Radio burnin' up above
Beautiful baby, be my love

All night till I blow away
All night till I blow away
I feel alright, I feel alright

Baby oh baby, burn my heart
Baby oh baby, burn my heart
Fall apart babe, fall apart
Baby oh baby, burn my heart

All night till I blow away
All night till I blow away

I feel alright
I feel alright

Adapt, keep lean, survive. You can't stand still Grandad.

One day, my son, all this will be yours............................
